Fire Chief - Citrus County

Job Description
Responsible management position overseeing the daily operations of the Fire Rescue Division. Monitors all phases of fire rescue activities including calls, complaints and staff training. Develops and implements operating policies and procedures and plans for future growth. Prepares and submits overall budget and monitors expenditures; reviews plans for new subdivisions to ensure water compliance in regards to codes and ordinances. Prepares reports and memorandums; reviews fire apparatus and equipment specifications. Reviews performance of firefighters to establish training. Heavy interaction with the general public and other emergency response agencies. Performs related work as required.

Salary
Range $1, 912.02 - $2,868.05 B/W Starting pay DOQ.

Requires a Bachelor's degree and/or education and training equivalent to four years of college education in Fire Science or closely related field. Requires a minimum of six years experience. Firefighter / Paramedic - Jefferson County

Job Description
Responds to fire and rescue calls and performs patient care, fire suppression, rescue, and ventilation in compliance with the department’s SOPs and directives on a scheduled and unscheduled basis.
•Provides emergency medical care to patients under current protocols as authorized by the department Medical Director up to the individual level of certification.
•Assesses and coordinates the resources and personnel to facilitate safety and quality care for all patients.
•Safely operates ambulances and first response units within the guidelines set forth by the department.
•Promotes departmental policies, procedures, objectives, safety, infection control, and quality assurance programs.
•Follows written Standard Operating Procedures and verbal directives as applicable to emergency medical services for the department.
•Shall complete, or assure completion, and properly file required forms of the department.
•Participates in a quality assurance program through critiques and debriefings.
•Performs other work as required..


Salary
$36,000.00.

Requirements
1. Age: Applicants must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age by the closing date.
2. Certification: Applicants must be currently certified as Fire Fighter / Paramedics by the State of Florida by the closing date.
3. Driver’s License: Applicants must submit a valid driver’s license from any state, provided that prior to appointment a valid Florida (Class E or higher) driver’s license is submitted to the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office Human Resources Director.
4. Visual Acuity: 20/50 each eye, separately without correcting lenses of any kind including contact lenses. With glasses, each eye should be corrected to 20/30. Depth and color perception must be within normal limits.
5. Convictions: Applicants must not have been convicted of any felony, or of a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude, perjury or a false statement, or have received a dishonorable discharge from any of the Armed Forces of the United States.

Firefighter/Paramedic - Oviedo

Job Description
Performs intermediate protective service work in fire suppression and providing emergency medical care to sick and injured patients; does related work as required. Work is performed under emergency conditions and involves an element of personal danger. Work is performed under regular supervision of a Fire Officer.

Responds to alarms, drives equipment, assists in the suppression of fires, including rescue, entry, ventilating and salvage work, and provides advanced emergency medical service. Responds to emergency calls and administers first aid, observes patient responses and maintains accurate and complete records. Provides emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written and verbal instructions from physicians; determines extent of illness or injury and establishes priorities for required care; provides advanced life support and performs advanced rescue techniques; assumes command of situations related to patient or medical care; performs all the duties of a Firefighter; transmits vital patient information to receiving medical care facility; Observes patient in route and administers additional care as needed; assists in cleaning and maintaining vehicle and equipment; assists with fire prevention inspections and pre-fire planning, participates in continuing training and instruction program

General knowledge of elementary physics, chemistry and mechanics as applied to fire suppression; ability to learn technical firefighting principles and techniques, and principles of hydraulics applied to fire suppression; general knowledge of the principles of anatomy, physiology and chemistry in relation to the respiratory and circulatory systems; general knowledge of the principles and techniques of emergency care, including diagnosis, proper treatment and automobile extraction and transportation; general knowledge of the street system and geography of the City; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates and the general public; ability to keep records and prepare reports; physical endurance and agility.

Salary
$41,859.82-Salary is dependent upon experience and/or qualifications.

Requirements
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience and training in fire suppression and emergency medical care. Valid driver license (Florida driver license must be obtained within thirty days of employment). State of Florida Firefighter Minimum Standards Certification required. Florida Paramedic certificate required or must be currently EMT certified and enrolled in paramedic Certificate Program. Must meet and maintain all requirements for position as established by the City and the State of Florida.

Firefighter/Paramedic - Orange County

Job Description
Duties Include:
  Performs fire suppression as a team member and/or individually by manning hose lines, operating hand held fire suppression equipment, and carrying out related duties in emergency firefighting situations.
Performs emergency medical services on persons injured or ill according to National, State and Departmental guidelines at either an EMT or paramedic level depending upon certification.
Performs rescue functions to extricate victims from occupancies filled with heat, smoke, and toxic gases by entering occupancy and physically removing victims.
Performs rescue and extrication functions of victims involved in vehicular entrapments using specific hand and pneumatic equipment.
Performs salvage and clean-up functions as required at the conclusion of fire-related emergency scenes.
Maintains physical conditioning and physical stamina required to perform firefighting duties.
Performs routine inspections of personal safety equipment in order to ensure equipment is in optimum condition and promptly notifies superiors of deficiencies.
Attends classroom and drill ground training sessions in order to continuously update knowledge and skills required for effective work performance.
Communicates and interacts with co-workers and/or the public either collectively or on a person to person level to receive emergency instructions or relay emergency information.
Participates in Public Relations activities such as school demonstrations, safety demonstrations, etc., to promote the image of the Department as a public safety provider in the community
Performs clean-up and janitorial duties in stations to maintain a clean working and living environment.
Operates Fire Rescue Department emergency vehicles as required.
Performs other related duties as required.


Salary
Firefighter/Paramedic: $47,650 ($39,099 base salary + $5,577 paramedic incentive + * $1045 Scheduled FLSA OT).

Fire Lieutenant - Mulberry

Job Description
This is supervisory and technical fire fighting work in directing the activities of a fire company on an assigned shift. An employee in this classification isresponsible for keeping all required station records and for scheduling the duties of subordinates. Tasks include the training of assigned personnel and observation of work at emergency scenes for evaluation purposes. Employees are directly responsible for training, safety, production, quality of performance, cost control, and methods utilized by their subordinates. Also responsible for station security, equipment and supplies. Considerable initiative and independent judgment are required in exercising command of emergency operations. Work is reviewed through observation, reports submitted and results obtained.
    1. Thorough knowledge of fire fighting techniques and the related equipment and its use.
    2. Considerable knowledge of the characteristics of fire search and rescue techniques and equipment.
    3. Considerable knowledge of management responsibilities and fire ground command procedures.
    4. Knowledge of standard departmental reports and forms and their purpose.
    5. Skill in the use and care of fire fighting and rescue tools and equipment.
    6. Ability to supervise and train personnel and to direct them under emergency conditions.
    7. Ability to enforce safety rules at fire scenes and other emergencies.
    8. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
    9. Ability to accurately disseminate information of a departmental nature.
    10. Ability to evaluate the attainment of goals and objectives at the company level.
    11. Knowledge of the local, state, and federal regulations that govern the workplace.
    12. Skill in utilizing the computer to complete required reports.
    13. Ability to attend classes and training as needed to maintain required certificates/licenses.
    14. Ability to ensure that crew is prepared for community relations activities/programs.
    15. Ability to make presentations before the public, to groups such as citizens, schools, classes or youth.
    16. Ability to monitor the performance of subordinates in relation to community relations activities and programs.
    17. Ability to conduct pre-emergency planning.
    18. Considerable knowledge of EMT operations and procedures.

Plan Reviewer II - Delray Beach

Job Description
The City of Delray Beach, Florida, Fire-Rescue Department is accepting applications for the position of Plans Reviewer II. This is a full-time position with complete benefit package.

This position involves technical work examining building plans and applications for compliance with fire and life safety codes, and preparing documents identifying code deficiencies. In addition, fire protection system design documents are also reviewed for applicable code compliance.

Salary
The salary range is $22.80/hr. to $34.50/hr.

The applicant should have a comprehensive background in concepts of fire and life safety, as well as a basic understanding of fire suppression and detection systems. A current Municipal Fire Safety Inspector Certificate is also required or must be obtained within one year of being hired.

Job Description
The City of Daytona Beach is accepting application for seven (7) Firefighter /EMT/Paramedic positions.

Salary
Salary Range: $30,801.36 - $53,275.80/Paramedic Incentive: $4,250.00

The City of Pompano Beach is now recruiting applicants who are Florida Certified Firefighters and who possess a Florida Paramedic certification. The Pompano Beach Fire/Rescue Department offers its residents a full complement of firefighting and emergency medical services, including ambulance service. The Department’s 194 employees (172 combat personnel) are assigned to six stations located throughout the city. Firefighters work a 24-hour shift with one shift on duty and two consecutive days off duty. Specialty units include a Fire Prevention Bureau, Hazardous Materials Team, Public Education Team and a Training Unit.

Salary
$43,548; $47,696 with paramedic duties. The staring salary for Firefighters is $43,548 annually which includes EMT pay. The top salary in grade is $58,361. Once assigned Paramedic duties, salary increases to $47,696 annually. Educational incentive pay, as required by the State, is also paid for completion of Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees. Firefighters are eligible for merit increases annually until reaching the maximum of the pay grade.
